APPLE CHASE by Michael
“Michael had a dog named Apple, with whom he loved to play chase. He executed the painting at left from memory using black and white pigments, the color of Apple’s coat, although he had a large selection of colors to choose from.”
8 x 10 acrylic on canvas, 1983

BIRD by Koko
“Koko seems to have painted her pet fledgling blue jay from memory. We rescued the bird from the nearby highway after a storm. Koko named the bird Tongue because of its protuberant tongue - the scrawny bird was always hungry and Koko enjoyed feeding it.”
